A powerful structure covering both the northern and eastern walls of the fortress. Protrudes far beyond the line of the walls for greater ease of flanking. It is called the Korolevskaya (King) Tower because this one was built by the Swedes in the 17th century on the site of a dismantled 16th century tower of Russian construction, called Chernaya or simply Uglovaya (Angular) Tower.
